SeaWorld Orca Purposely Beaches Herself After Park Show! Watch The Horrifying Footage!

This is just horrendous!
Last month Morgan, a SeaWorld-owned orca whale at an aquatic attraction in the Canary Islands, was recorded repetitively banging its head against her enclosure, desperately trying to escape its tiny confinement.
Now, new footage shows Morgan deliberately beaching herself after a show at Loro Parque back in May.
After performing for tourists, the killer whale launched herself onto a concrete slab, where she laid motionless for over 10 minutes — as tourists took selfies with the animal in the background.

Though a few wild orca breeds are known to temporarily beach themselves while hunting, the animals remain in constant motion otherwise — even swimming while they sleep.
Richard O’Barry, founder of Dolphin Project, explained that Morgan’s “bizarre behavior” would never be witnessed in the wild, noting:

“This is one of many examples of what is wrong with captivity. One would never see this bizarre behavior in nature.”

The footage of the harrowing incident was shared on Vimeo, where viewers were quick to point out that it looked like the animal was trying to take her own life — a possibility that makes this incident even more unsettling.
