Demi Engemann is on the outs with MomTok! And now we know why!
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Demi and Jessi Ngatikaura were thick as thieves during Season 1. But you may have noticed they are NOT friends these days! In fact, Demi is no longer close with anyone from the cast — except for Whitney Leavitt! It’s a wild twist no one saw coming, as the two practically hated each other throughout the first season! And all viewers want to know is what the heck happened between Jessi and Demi! Well, we have answers!
According to Jessi, her friendship with Demi is “done for good,” and it’s all because of her “unforgivable” behavior! Whoa! She told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea on Friday that she will “never be friends with [Engemann],” adding:
“And I’m a pretty forgiving person. It’s a lot for me to say that.”

Damn! It must be bad! The JZ Styles Salon & Hair Extension Co. owner didn’t want to give too much away as she wants fans to watch what happens during Season 2 of Mormon Wives, which dropped on Thursday. However, Jessi shared that Demi criticized her business and family. Her co-star’s comments crossed a major line to the point where the 32-year-old hairstylist won’t ever repair their friendship! She continued:
“It was a slow burn, though. You’ll see. Like, we were …really close and then it kind of just naturally … like, things start coming out and you’ll see the friendship start to break apart. And in real life, it’s just getting worse and worse.”
Yikes! Apparently, Demi snatched Whitney’s crown! She’s now the villain of Mormon Wives! Layla Taylor, who was also on Virtual Reali-Tea, said she distanced herself from Demi after noticing a lot of her red flags. Not only from how she treated Jessi, but how she treated her too at times:
“Season 1, she was already kind of showing some characteristics that were honestly borderline bullying in some scenarios. But we always kind of brushed that under the rug and we’re like, ‘Oh, she’s passionate,’ or, ‘She’s funny.’ She does it in a funny way that for, a long time, we all were kind of like, ‘Oh, it’s fine.’”
Jessi also feels like Demi is a “bully.” Referencing her behavior toward Whitney during Season 1, she added:
“Whitney was the victim of [Engemann’s behavior] and we hated Whitney. So we were like, ‘Go, Demi!’ And if you watch it with a new lens now, she was kind of a bully to Whitney in Park City. And we’ve now seen it to more people, ourselves included. So that’s a characteristic.”
Oof.
