Security Firm Speaks Out After Guard ‘Shoved’ Teyana Taylor At The Oscars!

Teyana Taylor is being vindicated!

Sunday night marked a momentous win for the actress, who starred in Best Picture winner One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Chase Infiniti, and Sean Penn. But moments after the cast took the stage to accept the prestigious award, the celebration was overshadowed by a messy onstage confrontation!

In footage circulating around the web, Teyana can be heard yelling at a “very rude” security guard who allegedly put his hands on her and “shoved” her. According to TMZ, the guard attempted to stop the actress and Warner Bros. co-CEO Pam Abdy from walking back on to the stage to take a Best Picture photo. Watch the unpleasant moment (below):

Yeesh! But Teyana’s cries are not being ignored.

On Monday, Security Industry Specialists, the firm hired to offer security at the event, formally apologized after the incident:

“During that interaction, there was incidental contact and we regret that the situation escalated. This is not the standard of professionalism we expect from our team, and we have addressed the matter internally to help ensure situations like this do not happen again.”

There’s no word on whether or not the particular guard was axed, but it’s clear things are being handled to some capacity.

The Academy also defended Teyana while speaking out about the shove:

“We were extremely upset to learn about the experience endured by Teyana Taylor at the end of the Oscars ceremony last night. We have worked with Teyana over the last several months during awards season, and she has been nothing short of remarkable, supportive, kind, and all about community.”

They added:

“Though the incident was with our outside security firm SIS, the experience of every single guest is our responsibility. We have made it clear to them that this behavior is not acceptable. We want to thank Teyana for showing remarkable grace, and we are taking the appropriate measures to ensure this does not happen again.”

Hopefully not!
