Selena Gomez Had An AWKWARD Oscars Run-In With Emilia Pérez Co-Star Karla Sofía Gascón After Alleged Twitter Insult!

The 97th annual Oscars were a night for celebration, snubs, and awkward run-ins! Just ask Selena Gomez!

Emilia Pérez was front and center in all the major categories at the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, so that means the stars were all there… Even Karla Sofía Gascón! As we’ve been following, the actress faced a TON of backlash after old posts on X (Twitter) resurfaced amid her Oscars campaign. One of the alleged tweets in particular took aim at her Emilia Pérez co-star Selena, whom she seemingly had some NASTY words for a few years ago… You know, the “rich rat” tweet?? Yeah. We still don’t know if that one was real since she had to nuke her whole account before we could check.

We wouldn’t blame Selena if she didn’t want to come face-to-face with Karla anymore after all that… But too bad! She did!

During the prestigious awards show, Karla made her way over to where Selena and her fiancé Benny Blanco were sitting — apparently just to greet her. In the unexpected interaction, Selena awkwardly stood up and leaned in to hug the 52-year-old while planting a kiss on her cheek. See (below):

Ooh, was this their first time interacting since the whole mess went public? Is that why Karla had to walk over? Because she hadn’t seen her and this was the first chance she had to clear the air? Inneresting…

If Selly did think Karla actually wrote that thing about her… or was just upset about all the other awful posts… she didn’t show it. She was very cordial. But she’s also a total pro. We know this. It ain’t her first big event, nor would it be her first event where she had to interact with someone who talked s**t behind her back and got caught. So we wouldn’t necessarily say there was any proof there’s no bad blood here.
