Why Selena Gomez Was ‘Mortified’ Walking Into Bestie Taylor Swift’s Party With Benny Blanco!

Sometimes there is a thing as being a bit too early! At least in Selena Gomez’s book!

Ahead of the release of their collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, she and her fiance, Benny Blanco, appeared on Spotify‘s Countdown To to talk more than music! They shared some new deets about their relationship on Wednesday’s show. We know what you’re thinking… what do we not already know about the candid couple? It turns out they are extremely punctual! To a fault in Hollyweird! Here’s the deal.

While driving around Los Angeles in a convertible at one point, the 37-year-old record producer asked Selena what the “first party” they ever went to together. The Only Murders in the Building actress couldn’t remember, but the first thing that popped into her head was when they went to a festivity hosted by her longtime best friend, Taylor Swift. She recalled:

“I don’t know if this was the first but it was actually really funny. As a couple we went to Taylor [Swift]’s party after some awards show.”

The evening got off to a rough start, though! Selly and Benny arrived early, like suuuuuper early, to the bash, and she felt so embarrassed! Aww! The Slow Down singer said:

“I don’t know, it was kind of cute, but I was mortified. Apparently cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”

It’s true, that’s why they call it being “fashionably late.” But hey, nothing wrong with arriving on time! Some folks appreciate it! It shows respect! (It’s just that respect isn’t “cool”! LOLz!)

This is apparently a normal thing for the two! They revealed they’re always the first to arrive at parties! Benny shared:

“We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you. You show up when like my mother shows up to a party. No, I thought you were gonna talk about the fact that no one knew we were dating and we were hiding.”

Hold up! We found out from Selena they had been secretly dating for six months back in December 2023. But apparently, “no one knew” — not even their pals? Tay must have known, right? Or is he just talking about how the public didn’t know at the time? We need more details from this night! LOLz! Selena and Benny are leaving us hanging here!
