We know Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are basically sisters, but had no idea they were so musically influential to one another!
In a new interview, Selly revealed that her new mature sound on Stars Dance was directly inspired by Swifty and Mizz Britney Spears!
Selena confessed her album’s spicy flavor is the result of dedicating all her time to the music:
“I was able to have full creative control over it. Before, I would have maybe a month or two to record an album, and I’d have to do my series at the same time and tour on the weekends. I wasn’t in the right mindset to fully give my all.”
And as far as maturity goes, the newly 21-year-old explains it’s been quite the evolution since tween stardom:
“The past year and a half has been really transitional for me, just personally, as well as transitioning into becoming a woman. I still feel like I’m 15 sometimes and then other times, I’m wanting to feel comfortable in my body and my skin.”
Stars Dance is the faboosh singer’s 4th studio album and catalyst to her first 64-date arena tour!
