Selena Gomez is breaking down over Donald Trump’s mass deportation efforts.
Early on Monday morning, the Emilia Pérez actress took to Instagram to share an emotional video of herself sobbing over the countless undocumented Mexican immigrants being targeted and “attacked” by the 47th president’s new deportation efforts. Speaking directly to the camera through tears, the 32-year-old cried out:
“I just wanted to say that I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

Such a heartbreaking reality. Clearly Selena, who produced the 2019 Netflix series Living Undocumented about undocumented families in the US, is VERY affected by everything going on… But we guess not everyone is on the same empathetic page because shortly after posting the clip, the Only Murders in the Building actress deleted it and shared the following text on her Story over a black background:
“Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
She went on to delete that, too. Our hearts are with the families fighting to stay together here in the US.
