Unless you’re a hardcore EDM enthusiast, you probably know little to nothing about Zedd!
If you’ve been living under a rock, let us give you a quick refresher! At a Golden Globes after-party in early January, the singer was seen holding hands with the talented DJ.

That bit of PDA was definitely a HUGE step for Selener to take since she’s been forever linked to bad boy Justin Bieber.
So, just who is Zedd — and is he a good fit for the singer??
Well, aside from working with big name artists such as Foxes, Ariana Grande, and Hayley Williams, here are some things you should definitely know about the 25-year-old!
1. Zedd’s real name is Anton Zaslavski. He was born in Russia to two classically trained musicians and was raised in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Judging by some of his Instagram posts, he’s pretty close with his siblings!
2. When Zedd was a pre-teen, he composed and produced a number of rock songs in his band’s own studio! He was actually in a rock group with his brother, but decided that balancing a band and being a successful DJ was harder than it sounded.
3. The DJ broke out in 2009 when he actually started producing electronic music! After a short period of time, he won two Beatport remix contests and caught Skrillex‘s interest! That ultimately led to Skrillex signing Zedd to his OWSLA label. From then on, he started creating remixes for big name artists!
4. He has original production credits on Justin’s Beauty and a Beat. A little awkward, right? We wonder if the two ever met while JB was still dating Selenas!
5. During his first television appearance, Zedd performed a stripped down version of the hit Clarity. Soon after, the song made its way up the charts and started playing on top 40 radio stations across the nation.
6. He loves Panda Express — just another reason to love this guy, right??
7. According to his Moment of Clarity documentary, he’s a productive perfectionist! That explains why his music is absolutely perfect to the world!
8. That’s probably also how he won a Grammy for Clarity.
9. He’s friends with everyone you would want to be friends with. Jared Leto, Skrillex, Ariana Grande, Hayley Williams from Paramore, etc. Don’t lie, you know you wish you were friends with those talented people, too!
10. He has a HUGE heart and is involved in charitable activities! If you forgot, Selenita was once an ambassador for UNICEF — that’s another thing they have in common and it makes him perfect for The Heart Wants What It Wants singer!
