David Beckham has some really devoted fans. So devoted that someone has decided to create a musical about him.

Seriously.

The musical is expected to be titled David Beckham – The Theatre of Dreams.

The show’s creator, Mark Archer, says “Beckham├óΓé¼Γäós story is a modern-day fairytale of heroes, villains, love, Manchester United and what it means to lead your country.”

Seems like Beckham’s done a lot at only 33 years-old.

Archer adds, ├óΓé¼┼ôHis rise from obscurity to international stardom, his universally acknowledged gifts as a supreme sportsman, and his Hollywood lifestyle all have the elements of an aspirational fable.”

├óΓé¼┼ôWith football and celebrity now firmly established as new secular Western religions,’ Archer continues, “The Theatre of Dreams is set within a cheering football stadium ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ the modern-day church. The music is powerful, gospel-like rock to establish clearly football and Manchester United as a religion.├óΓé¼Γäó├óΓé¼Γäó

The musical concept is being described as “Throw in the sub-plots of a glamorous spouse (Posh Spice), the reported tensions with his father (Ted Beckham) and father figure (Sir Alex Ferguson) and the stage represents a natural home for a man now based in Hollywood.”

Put to song will be Beckham’s life in England during the ’90s.

Along with a song about meeting Posh Spice, one about reaching France in 1998, and another about the difficulties he encountered under Glenn Hoddle and encountered with Diego Simeone in St-Etienne.

And Archer adds, there will also be “crying on his dad├óΓé¼Γäós shoulders as the Argentinians laughingly taunt him with La Folie and he becomes the scapegoat figure of hatred for the whole country in Villain of the Peace.├óΓé¼Γäó├óΓé¼Γäó

It’s not worth going to see unless the actor looks almost exactly like Beckham.
