As of now, it’s unclear what illness the Republican Senator was battling, but multiple news outlets have reported emergency services responded to a call for a “cardiac arrest” at 8:30 p.m.
In the wake of the news, Donald Trump revealed on a call with CNN that he spoke with Senator Graham, who was a close ally, at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night — just two hours before EMS responded:
“It’s devastating, I thought he was fine. He called me last night … It had to be something very quick because he was fine when I spoke to him. Other than being tired, he was fine.”
