Seth MacFarlane’s New Show Dads Willing To Be Called Racist For Laughs!

Seth MacFarlane and the FOX network have said ├óΓé¼┼ôno arigato├óΓé¼┬¥ to the Media Action Network for Asian Americans├óΓé¼Γäó suggestion that they reshoot at least one scene of Dads — a scene the group finds offensive to Asians.

In the scene in question, the lead characters, two young white men, compel a female Asian employee to dress as a stereotypical sexy schoolgirl and giggle behind her hands to satisfy Chinese customers.

Wait, WHAT THE HELL is this show about? ‘Cause it sounds possibly racist, but maybe also hot?

We’re feeling very confused now.

FOX said:

“The series is based heavily on the executive producers’ own lives, and the relationships between the fathers and sons on Dads will continue to be the main driver of show’s comedic sensibility. Everyone involved with Dads is striving to create a series with humor that works on multiple levels and ‘earns’ its audaciousness.”

Inneresting.

We TOTES understand audaciousness — we pretty much WROTE the book blog on it — but in order for something not to be perceived as just a racial impropriety, it really does have to be funny. (Just ask Kate Gosselin.)

Maybe the Media Action Network for Comedy Writers is the group that should be getting fired up here?!? LOLz!!!
