Shania Twain has a new look — and plastic surgeons have thoughts!
Last month, the Man! I Feel Like A Woman! singer hosted the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville, Tennessee… But her hosting abilities were quickly overshadowed by her appearance as fans said they could barely recognize her!
Obviously she was debuting a new look. First, she traded her signature brunette locks for a bleach blonde look, complete with ’60s-style flipped ends. Her gown paired denim with dazzling crystals, and the entire makeup situation was just as bold and different. But beyond that, netizens thought her face — specifically her eyes — were just not the same… See (below):
Compared to four years earlier…
Well, she certainly looks amazing! But many online thought something else… Some of the reactions on X (Twitter) included things like:
“That is not Shania — ain’t no way”
“Botox”
“Wow, she has had a lot of work done”
“Looks like a robot”
“Reminds me of the The Stepford Wives”
One user on TikTok even racked up over 100 THOUSAND likes on a conspiracy theory speculating on her look. You can watch (below):

But don’t worry, she wasn’t replaced by a robot as some joked (at least we hope they were kidding…) But she may have had a few things cosmetically tweaked!

On Monday, celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie spoke to DailyMail.com about her appearance at the awards show last month. First off, he feels her bold hair and wardrobe wasn’t the reason fans thought she looked different — no, he thinks that was all an attempt to “shift the focus” away from cosmetic work:
“It’s an effective way to shift the focus and keep people speculating. In recent years, Shania Twain has been known to use wigs to completely transform her look, allowing her to reinvent herself regularly. In the world of celebrity plastic surgery, we’ve also noticed that dramatic hairstyles are increasingly used to distract from changes that may have occurred due to going under the knife or receiving dermal fillers and Botox.”
What does he think she got done? He believes she could have gotten a brow lift, Botox, and facial filler to add volume to her face.
A second plastic surgeon, Dr. Adam Rubinstein, also chimed in to speculate:
“Shania has beautiful cheekbones, with an amazing jawline, she just has a great structure naturally and she is aging particularly well. But the one thing that I do see is that her eyes look really refreshed, the upper lids in particular. Her upper eyelids look a little bit fuller and heavier beforehand, but then when you look at the People’s Choice Awards they look a little bit more open and brighter. It may be make-up, but it does appear that because they look so refreshed that an upper eyelid lift — or blepharoplasty — is possible.”
Hmmmm! Well, we can’t say for certain… Last Shania said, she hasn’t had any plastic surgery! In May, she denied altering her appearance “superficially,” and credited her beauty to good old fashioned diet and exercise. The 59-year-old told The US Sun:
“I want to be OK with it instead of thinking, I have to cover it up or not to look. I can’t change it, and I don’t plan on changing it superficially.”
