Shaq is the best!
Recently, he met with one of the world’s smallest primates at an event organized by National Geographic Explorer and author Mireya Mayor, in connection with two conservation groups, Centre ValBio and Duke Lemur Centre.
Mireya has been working as a conservationist in Madagascar for 15 years and is fighting to protect the mouse lemur and its dwindling habitat.
Logging and agricultural expansion are eating away this cute little guy’s natural habitat.
She said:
“Having an ambassador like Shaq speaking for the lemurs is a great way of raising awareness about their plight. Centre ValBio is extremely grateful that Shaq is lending his star power to bring attention to the endangered animals and forests of Madagascar.”
Wanna help animals? Just have them hang out with Shaq!
He said:
“All these little fellows and all of the animals of Madagascar need some love.”
