As we mentioned last month, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and actor Sam Shepard was arrested in central Illinois for DUI.
And, now, the idiot has finally plead guilty to drunken driving after he was stopped last month around 2am one night going 46 mph in a 30 mph zone. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit for driving.
Shepard said on Wednesday, “I never intend to drive under the influence again … it’s not worth it.”
He also apologized to the judge and agreed to pay fines of $65, plus court costs, as well as commit to 100 hours of community service.
He was placed on 24 months of court supervision and will most likely have to complete some sort of alcohol treatment program.
Shepard’s next hearing is set for September 25th to verify his compliance with his sentencing.
