Shia LaBeouf Vows To Stop Drinking Until His Movie Wraps Following Arrest -- See What His Lawyer Said About His Addiction Issues!

Shia LaBeouf doesn’t have an uncontrollable urge to drink… until someone hands him a drink, that is.
The actor’s lawyer says that while Shia is not an alcoholic per se, he does have an addiction in that once he starts drinking, he can’t stop — which is exactly how the 31-year-old winded up getting arrested on Saturday.
But this time, it looks like Shia is determined to turn things around!
Not only is he well aware of his substance abuse, he’s vowed to not touch an alcoholic beverage until he finishes shooting his movie The Peanut Butter Falcon.

As we reported, production sources were shocked to see he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct over the weekend, as he’s been nothing but professional, reliable, and sober since shooting began.
And the actor wants to continue to be that dependable guy, as he is adamant about seeking help for his addiction AFTER filming has wrapped — which apparently isn’t a big deal, as the actor just won’t start drinking.
Savannah lawyer Doug Andrews told TMZ production will not be interrupted by the arrest or Shia’s promise to get professional help for his addiction, a word the former Disney Channel star uses even though he doesn’t feel tempted by alcohol.
The lawyer also says he and Shia want to make up for the star’s drunken stupor — which included a NSFW racist rant — to Savannah police and the community. While they haven’t cooked up anything just yet, the actor promises it will be meaningful.
We can only hope he walks around the town with a paper bag over his head that reads “I am not drinking anymore.”
