Shia LaBeouf just can’t get over his foot-in-mouth disease.
When speaking his mind about the mixed reception of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, the young actor ended up offending Steven Spielberg.
Shia still feels bad about that. He says:
“He told me there’s a time to be a human being and have an opinion, and there’s a time to sell cars. It brought me freedom, but it also killed my spirits because this was a dude I looked up to like a sensei.”
But instead of attempting to heal the rift with one Hollywood icon, the Transformers star has decided to open it up to include the rest of Hollywood! He says:
“I’m done. There’s no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist… [Studios] give you the money, then get on a plane and come to the set and stick a finger up your ass and chase you around for five months.”
So what does he mean “done?”
Shia isn’t quitting movies; he just feels like he can do more good in the wild world of independent cinema.
Along those lines, The Beef’s next film will be Nymphomaniac, a sexually explicit film by the controversial Lars Von Trier. Shia says:
“He’s dangerous. He scares me. And I’m only going to work now when I’m terrified.”
Oh, Shia! You don’t have to be scared.
If you can’t figure out how to keep the peace, we’re scared for you!
