So sad.
On Wednesday afternoon shots were fired at a movie theater outside Nashville during a screening of Mad Max. Calls came in at 1:15 p.m. that the shooting took place at Carmike Hickory Hollow Cinema in Antioch, Tennessee.
The information officer with the local fire department said 3 people are being treated for pepper spray exposure, and one of them also suffered a superficial wound that he says is no more than a bad bruise. The official suspects the wound was caused by a hatchet.
The suspected gunman was killed after being shot by a police officer, who was responding to the scene. No other deaths are being reported. The Nashville police tweeted this statement:
Active shooter situation @ Hickory 8 Theater — suspect dead

Officials say the shooter was armed with a gun and a hatchet, and had two backpacks — one was found on his body, and the other was at the scene. The bags are being investigated by police.
Our hearts are breaking that another senseless shooting has happened in our country, but we’re so relieved that no one else died in this scary situation. We’ll keep you updated as the story develops.
