This is a confrontation over three years in the making…and apparently, it DID NOT disappoint!
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has made no secret of his disdain for MTV‘s breakout hit Jersey Shore and all of its castmates, even going so far as to veto a proposed tax credit for the reality series in 2011!
Even though our beloved Snooki even tried to bury the hatchet and help the politico lose weight, it was to no avail, because the pair apparently ran into each other for the first time in person yesterday morning on the Seaside Heights boardwalk, where both were filming separate segments for The Today Show!
As you can imagine, things did not go too smoothly!
Ch-ch-check out a photo the starlet posted to her Instagram page (above), which she captioned:
“Getting told why we are bad for jersey. Amazing.”
Eek!
And as her rep. furthered:
“Nicole simply wanted to know once and for all why Governor Christie dislikes the cast of Jersey Shore. The show brought the beloved summer destination a significant amount of revenue during its 6 seasons on MTV. Nicole loves, respects and admires her adopted state of NJ which she now resides in with her family.”
Hey! Fair enough to us!
And even though this whole fiasco definitely looks unpleasant and uncomfortable, we’re just glad to see that it didn’t go the more, ahem, ‘traditional’ Jersey Shore route and devolve into a drunken, dubstep-infused fist-fight!
