Sonia Rykiel dropped a bomb on the fashion world in her new book N├óΓé¼Γäóoubliez pas que je joue (Don├óΓé¼Γäót forget it├óΓé¼Γäós a game): she has Parkinson’s.
After struggling with the disease for the past 15 years the French designer decided to come clean because she couldn’t disguise the symptoms anymore. Rykiel writes:
“I don├óΓé¼Γäót want to show my pain. I resisted, I hesitated, I tried to be invisible, to pretend that nothing was wrong. It├óΓé¼Γäós impossible, it├óΓé¼Γäós not like me.├óΓé¼┬¥
So sad, but at the same time we applaud her for being so brave.
