The Star Wars cinematic universe continues to grow, but its fandom continues to be overrun with problematic trolls.

The Last Jedi breakout star Kelly Marie Tran has reportedly deleted all of her Instagram posts after dealing with months of harassment from shithead fans.

The 29-year-old’s dream came true when she was cast as the first first Asian-American actress to play a leading role in the franchise. But that dream turned into a nightmare when it became clear that fans detested her character — which sadly turned into an assault on the actress’ race.

Tran has been the subject of sexist and racist comments from fans since her appearance in the 2017 film. The description of her character, Rose Tico, was even altered to feature offensive, racist language on the Star Wars “Wookieepedia” website.

Understandably, the actress had enough. Tran deleted all her IG posts due to the endless harassment, according to the Twitter account Star Wars Facts.

This social media exit mirrors that of Tran’s costar Daisy Ridley, who deleted her Instagram in 2016 after receiving backlash for her opinions on gun violence.

Of course, the attacks on Tran’s race are much more revolting and reveal just how toxic the Star Wars fandom can be.

BTW, fans who despise Rose Tico should direct their anger towards the writers, not the actress who plays her!
