The sudden, tragic death of Boyzone’s Stephen Gately has left the public wondering what exactly happened to Gately while vacationing on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
Family friend Gerald Kean has assured the media that there was “no foul play” involved with Gately’s death and his passing was due to natural causes.
Says Kean:
It’s just a tragic accident is what we’ve been told, and we’re happy that that is correct information. There is nothing untoward. It’s not drugs, we don’t believe. It’s not suicide. It’s not murder. It’s not a fight. That’s what we’ve been told.
Gately was vacationing in Mallorca with his partner of two years, Andrew Cowles, at the time of his death, but according to a statement released by Boyzone, they “don’t have too many details” other than he died from natural causes.
An autopsy is expected to be performed on Tuesday, which hopefully will answer many of the questions swirling around Gately’s passing.
