Steve Madden is clearly one of the lucky few doing very well these days – the label is expanding left and right!
First, the company announced plans for its upcoming clothing line.
Today, the brand announced that it has signed a licensing deal with Lucas Design International to design and sell a line of women’s jewelry under the Steve Madden name.
No details yet on what, exactly, the line will look like, but Edward Rosenfeld, Chairman and CEO of Steve Madden, said:
“We look forward to working with the Lucas Design team to offer a jewelry collection that will reflect the Steve Madden name and that Lucas Design’s expertise in the fashion jewelry business makes them an excellent partner for this endeavor.”
Daniel Landver, CEO of Lucas Design International, added:
“In today’s challenging economy, very few products help a woman differentiate herself more than her accessories, particularly her shoes and jewelry. Lucas design is very excited at the opportunity to create unique fashion jewelry for the Steve Madden customer.”
The jewelry is due out in Fall 2010, at department stores, select speciality stores, and Steve Madden boutiques.
We have a hard time imaging what the jewels would look like, but we’re very curious to see!
