Wow this is so scary! But at least some folks with some hearts of gold were there to lend a hand!
On the Dolphin Expressway in Miami, Florida, Pamela Rauseo was driving her five-month-old nephew Sebastian de la Cruz when suddenly the baby stopped breathing.
In a panic and yet still having the right instincts as to what to do, the aunt pulled over to the side of the road and began performing CPR on the baby whose skin color was turning blue.
It was then that a stranger named Lucila Godoy saw what was happening and pulled over to aid the frantic aunt.
When a photographer for the Miami Herald named Al Diaz saw what was happening he at first began to take pictures, but when he realized the seriousness of the situation, he dropped his camera, and ran to fetch the police.
Here’s what the photojournalist said:
“As a photojournalist you want to capture these images, but as a human being you want to get help.”
The policeman he found was Amauris Bastidas whom, along with the aunt’s help, were able to get the baby to begin breathing again. Then, suddenly, the baby stopped breathing again.
But at this point other emergency workers had arrived on the scene — and again with the aunt Pamela Rauseo’s help — they combined their efforts to get the baby breathing again, this time without any further setbacks.
They then took the little one to Jackson Memorial Hospital where the baby is expected to make a full recovery.
Just an incredible story, and thankfully an incredibly tale with a happy ending – instead of a tragic one.
