Superstitious Moms Hold It In: Fewer Babies Are Born On Halloween

“My baby is NOT gonna be a Halloween baby!” – Most Mom’s in America.
For some reason mommy don’t want their babies to be born on Halloween.
According to a recently published study moms-to-be hold in or speed up labor to avoid having kids on “bad” holidays like Halloween and speed it up so they’re kids can be born on “good” holidays like Valentines day.
The Yale’s School of Public Health looked at birthrates on American holidays between 1996 and 2006, and discovered:

“There was a 3.6 increase in spontaneous births and a 12.1 percent increase in Caesarean births on Valentine’s Day and a 5.3 percent decrease in spontaneous births and a 16.9 percent decrease in Caesarean births on Halloween.”

This research proves two things: 1) none of these mothers are sympathizing with the plight Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas and 2) Moms can control when they give birth!
There is no bioloigical proof that women can start or stop the ticking time bomb in their belly, however this study clearly shows the mother’s will has some effect.
We are totally impressed the the mysteries of motherhood. But srsly, stop hating on Halloween!!
