What took so long?
Suri Cruise may only be 7 years old, but it feels like she’s been a force in the fashion game for quite some time now.
She’s already been voted the most stylish child, so, really, it was just a matter of time before she got a clothing line to call her very own.
No really, the line’s actually going to be called Suri.
The roughly $2.3 million deal is expected to include dresses, tops, jeans, shoes and accessories and will be available at a New York department store this fall. If all goes well, the line will eventually land in North American stores sometime next year.
When asked about the motivation behind the decision to have Suri design a new line, a source said:
“Suri is only seven but she is incredibly interested in clothes. She has been through a very difficult year and adapted amazingly to her new life in New York, including the upheaval of starting normal school.
This is a nice hobby for her, it├óΓé¼Γäós certainly not going to take over her life. Most girls dream of being able to make their own clothes, this just means her drawings will now become a reality. It├óΓé¼Γäóll be interesting to see how it pans out, there├óΓé¼Γäós nothing around quite like it.”
The funny thing is that Suri was actually going to START HER OWN FASHION BLOG, but when Katie Holmes and her stylist/Holmes & Yang co-designer Jeanne Yang started talking about it, an idea for a fashion line came into play after Suri, YES SURI, began talking about special designs for her clothes.
Hmmm, we wonder how Tom feels about this?
