Susan B. Anthony would be so proud.
On Tuesday, women flocked to the political hero’s grave in Rochester, New York to place their “I voted” stickers on her tombstone.

People are honoring the inspirational woman’s legacy, since she played a key role in the women’s suffrage movement even though she could never vote herself.
This tradition isn’t new, but considering this election has seen our country’s first female nominee in a major party, the gesture is exceptionally popular this year.
In fact, Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren told the Democrat & Chronicle that they’re keeping Mt. Hope Cemetery open late so everyone can take part, saying:
“Visiting Susan B. Anthony’s gravesite has become an Election Day rite of passage for many citizens ├óΓé¼┬ª (W)ith this year’s historically significant election, it seems right to extend that opportunity until the polls close.”
The cemetery usually closes at 5 p.m., but its gates will remain open until 9 p.m.
