Swinging Mormon TikTok Star Taylor Frankie Paul Speaks Out After Being Arrested For Domestic Violence

Nearly one month after being arrested for domestic violence, TikTok star Taylor Frankie Paul gave an update on her life to her fans.

For those who don’t know, the 28-year-old social media personality was taken into custody last month following an altercation with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, in Utah. Taylor allegedly hit the 30-year-old when he attempted to step away from their heated argument at the time. She also allegedly put him “in a chokehold,” kicked him, and threw several objects at Dakota, including her cell phone, “wooden playset,” and three metal barstools. One of those barstools hit her 5-year-old daughter Indy Paul, resulting in a “goose egg” bump on her head. So, so awful.

Taylor was ultimately charged with one count of felony aggravated assault, two counts of felony domestic violence in the presence of a child causing injury, one count of misdemeanor child abuse, and one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief. However, her attorney entered a not-guilty plea following the charges.

While Dakota has been active on TikTok, even taking a moment to defend his girlfriend after her arrest, Taylor remained quiet on the platform – until this weekend. She and Dakota put on a united front and shared several videos of them hanging out together for the first time since her arrest. And now that the influencer is back to her regularly scheduled TikTok content, it looks like she’s willing to speak out on camera about the situation… well, as much as can right now.

While filming a “get ready with me” video for her 4 million followers, Taylor opened up about her mental health amid her legal troubles, revealing she’s been going to therapy and taking medication to help with her anxiety and depression:

“I also got on Zoloft to help with my depression and anxiety. I’m on week four, so I don’t know if I see a major difference yet, but I’ll keep you guys updated on that. I also started EMDR [eye movement desensitization and reprocessing] therapy and so far, have loved it. We’re just working on all the trauma and kinda going to start diving into how we can help cope with it, one, starting with my divorce. I’m just learning how to shift it to better thoughts, so I don’t have such bad anxiety.”

As for her relationship with Dakota? Well, it sounds like they are in a good place despite what happened. In fact, Taylor revealed in the video that she recently met his loved ones for the first time:

“I went and spent some time in Logan, Utah with Dakota’s family, his siblings, his parents, and the Mortensen family is just amazing. I love all of them so much. Some of them did say I’m the favorite girl he’s ever brought home. I don’t know if I believe that but thank you. I’m obsessed with all of them.”

Their “favorite girl he’s ever brought home?” That’s a shocking detail, considering the alleged altercation she got into with him. Of course, she does not specifically mention the domestic violence situation at all. However, Taylor did note she will not be showing her children on TikTok for right now – a decision that was most likely influenced by her case:

“On a more serious note, I am going to keep my kids off TikTok for a little bit. I do share them on Instagram for close family and friends, but for now they’re gonna stay off TikTok. But not forever.”

She then concluded the video by thanking her fans for their support over the past couple of weeks, saying:

“And I honestly just wanted to say thank you to all of those that have been so kind and sweet to me.”
