Money talks!
A Swiss court has approved Roman Polanski‘s bail offer of $4.5 million in exchange for his release from jail and going under house arrest and electronic monitoring at his chalet in Switzerland.
Sounds like living in a Swiss chalet 24/7 would be really rough.
The Swiss Justice Ministry is keeping Polanski in jail until they reach a decision on whether or not to appeal his release. They have 10 days to appeal.
Though Polanski’s still considered a high flight risk, the Swiss Criminal Court has said that the new bail offer is “significant enough to offset those concerns.”
Supposedly this development will not affect the Swiss government deciding to extradite Polanski to the US or not for his crime of raping a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
But one thing always leads to another and if they do release him from jail it looks like Polanski could ultimately get away with it again.
Disgraceful.
