Sydney Sweeney is finally addressing all the rumored drama surrounding the Euphoria cast!
As Perezcious readers know, there have been whispers for a while about the actress feuding with her co-star Zendaya. The Dune star allegedly wants nothing to do with Sydney due to the latter’s alleged views after she attended a MAGA-style birthday party for her mom or took part in a super controversial American Eagle jeans campaign whose critics insisted pushed eugenics. Not to mention, sources claimed part of their tension stems from Sydney allegedly flirting with Z’s fiancé or (maybe?) now-husband, Tom Holland, whenever he visited the Euphoria set! Yikes!
And that only scratches the surface of the problems with Season 3 of Euphoria! The Hollywood Reporter also claimed creator Sam Levinson started feuding with Zendaya because she delayed production due to her busy filming schedule outside the show and rejected multiple storylines for her character, Rue Bennett. However, The Challengers actress later shut down the allegations.

Now Sydney is chiming in on the rumored issues! When asked about how she deals with reports about cast drama by Vanity Fair in a new interview published on Tuesday, Scooter Braun‘s girlfriend said:
“Well, I mean, we all grew up together on this show, so it’s honestly crazy to watch how much social media and the press spin things. I was in first position to HBO.”
Being in “first position” basically means Sydney’s commitment to filming Euphoria took priority over any other projects under her contract. And it was apparently the same for everyone else, including Zendaya! Sydney explained:
“So the moment they say, ‘Hey, this is the first day of filming,’ I’m legally not allowed to do anything else. So my schedule doesn’t affect the show. And so that was funny to watch everybody spin narratives on it. All of us were in first position, so it wasn’t like any of our schedules were holding it up.”
Wow! She’s straight up defending Zendaya from the rumors — well, those specific ones anyway. But that may be as far as she’s willing to go, because as for the alleged drama with her castmate? She didn’t say anything about all that, unfortunately! It’s become pretty clear to fans that those two aren’t the biggest fans of each other IRL, especially after Sydney excluded Zendaya in a recent Euphoria photo dump.
