What a horrific tragedy for Taylor Spreitler and her family.
Late Thursday night, the Melissa & Joey alum took to Instagram to share the sad news that her beloved father had committed suicide.

In the emotional message, Taylor made note of her father’s “struggles depression” in addition to encouraging her fans to reach out to suicide prevention hotlines if they’re hurting. Obviously the note is an extremely heartbreaking read.

Today my heart is hurting. My dad took his own life due to his struggles with depression. I am deeply saddened and will miss him dearly as he was my inspiration and biggest cheerleader. I am sharing this news with my all my fans as I want to educate everyone on the pain that depression can cause. My mission now is to educate others on how to get help. If you know someone who is struggling, please tell them to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255. ‎Also, I ask that you respect my family’s privacy during this time so we may heal from the devastating news. What a terrible situation. We admire the Missippi native’s ability to mourn the loss of her dad while also taking the time to provide help to those in need.
As of now, Spreitler’s costars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence have not spoken out on the devastating passing.
Our hearts go out to the actress as she begins the grieving process.
