Taylor Swift has had more than her fair share of surprise guests at her concerts — everyone from Kobe Bryant to Selena Gomez to Justin Timberlake.
But we’re not going to lie, Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart showing up would have made our Wildest Dreams come true!
Swift and McKellen linked up via Twitter shortly after a video of him reciting lines from Bad Blood went viral.

It was Patrick Stewart — who also recited a couple Swift songs — who tweeted Tay-Tay to see if the two could join her squad! Of course she said yes and invited them into her exclusive group!
Unfortunately, they didn’t end up making it to the concert.
Sir Ian has since revealed in an interview that he apparently turned down the 25-year-old singer’s squad invitation!!
WHA?? Who turns down Taylor?!
When asked how it felt to be part of Swift’s posse, the Oscar-nominated actor simply replied:
“I’m not.”
Wow, well that’s blunt.
He went on to say:
“She did ask me to appear with Patrick Stewart at her show in L.A., but I had something else to do that night.”
Ouch! Is he throwing shade here??
If that wasn’t surprising enough, he actually revealed that he has history with the pop star that dates back pre-1989 tour! He said:
“When I was living in Peter Jackson‘s apartment in New York, Taylor Swift bought it while I was there and I was thrown out before I wanted to leave! That hardly puts me in Taylor Swift’s team, does it? You look shocked… She bought it, she had every right to — I was just lodging there for free!”
It sounds like the Lord of the Rings actor may have missed his opportunity but who knows, maybe his X-Men co-star can convince him to squad up!
