Taylor Swift Played A HUGE Part In Travis Kelce Choosing One More NFL Season - Here's How!

Taylor Swift was the right woman for the right role when it came time for Travis Kelce to decide whether to retire from the NFL or return for one more season.

Of course, Trav and his Kansas City Chiefs lost a supremely disappointing Super Bowl last month to the Philadelphia Eagles. Plus, since Kelce has already logged 12 grueling seasons in the pro football league, there was rampant speculation that he’d hang up his cleats and move on to forever after. But not so! At the end of February, the 35-year-old tight end announced that he’d be back for at least one more year with KC. And now we know who to thank for Travis’ gridiron return: TayTay!

On Tuesday, an insider revealed to Page Six that Taylor was definitely in favor of Trav taking one more shot at gridiron greatness! And not only that, she SPECIFICALLY wants him to avenge last month’s crushing 40-22 Super Bowl defeat! The source said:

“She didn’t want Travis to retire. She wanted him to go out on a high note.”

Taylor has turned into such a football fan during her time with Travis. We are SO here for it!

Now, that being said, the insider was also quick to note that the final call on whether to return to the game or not came down to Kelce himself. So, while Taylor was a major source of support, and a caring shoulder to lean on, the University of Cincinnati alum ultimately had to make the call on his own. Regarding that part of the process, the insider said the decision really only came down to one thing: health. They noted:

“He has to be able to physically do it.”

Makes sense! Travis ain’t getting any younger. And the level of competition in the NFL ain’t getting any easier!

In the end, with Travis all-in on at least one more year of football, the insider confirmed to the outlet that the Mean singer is “happy” with his decision. Awww! Snaps and claps for a supportive GF!

Oh, and when asked whether Taylor would be back in the stands (and/or the suites!) at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on Travis for this fall’s forthcoming season, the source needed just two words:

“Of course.”

Yay!!!

Clearly, Taylor loves watching her man ascend to legend status on the field. Meanwhile, we are just happy that he’ll be back for another year so we can see him move around some more in those tight football pants.
