Wait A Sec… Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Haven't Completed THIS Pivotal Step Before Wedding!

Hmm. We may need to tamp down the excitement on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding!

There’s been a lot of activity in Rhode Island this week, making it seem like the singer and athlete are getting married on Saturday, but there’s just one hiccup: they haven’t filed for a marriage license yet!

TMZ spoke to Brian Patrick Kennedy, the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, and as of 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a marriage license had not been issued for the couple in Westerly, where the So High School artist’s mansion is located, as well as Ocean House, where wedding preparations appear to be underway.

Brian was even in touch with the town manager, who confirmed nothing was filed in the town hall before it closed for the Juneteenth holiday. Obtaining a marriage license through the Westerly Town Clerk’s Office is usually a quick process, according to Kennedy, and the state doesn’t provide confidential marriage licenses, unlike other places like California. Marriage records, however, are protected by state law and aren’t publicly accessible.

So, what does this mean? Taylor and Travis either aren’t the ones getting married this weekend… or they’re doing it without the legal requirements to make it official. Maybe they don’t care if the paperwork has the same date on it and will file later? It could be a way to try to keep the nuptials more private. That, or this isn’t their celebration at all! LOLz!

One other important thing to note is that Brian insisted the pop star’s home is perfectly capable of hosting a large event. He confirmed to the outlet she just recently finished renovations to the property. With over five acres of space, she could easily host a ton of folks while maintaining privacy with large tents. The main challenge would be parking, which could be sorted by shuttling guests from downtown and using municipal parking lots.

A wedding this weekend certainly isn’t out of the question yet. So, what do y’all think? Is it happening? Sound OFF (below)!
