Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are planning one of the most highly anticipated weddings ever! And while many may assume Andrea Swift and Donna Kelce would be involved in the preparations since the happy couple is so close with their parents, they are actually getting NO help from their mommas! Not even from their dads!
According to Dailymail.com on Thursday, Taylor and Travis completely shut out their parents when it comes to planning the nuptials. Instead, they are heavily relying on themselves and a professional planner to bring their dream wedding to life. A source explained:
“Both sets of parents are all really happy and think getting married is the right thing for them to do because they’re old school and wanted him to put a ring on Taylor’s finger. But none of them are involved in the wedding planning, although surprisingly Travis is.”

Don’t get it twisted, though! The pop star is not a bridezilla here, at least as far as we know! Although a lot of the ideas come from Taylor, she asks for Travis’ opinions on everything and will axe anything they do not agree on:
“Taylor’s not the official wedding planner, but most of the ideas are hers. She’s used to taking control. This will be her big day and along with Travis she’ll be the mastermind. She literally runs everything past him. If they don’t agree on something they scrap it.”
Sounds great! A healthy way to handle all of the wedding planning! Fans might be surprised that the moms are not lending a hand with organizing the big event because Taylor and Travis are so close with their families. As another well-placed source said:
“Taylor and Travis are big on family, so when they can have any functions, they want their parents there and they love it. Family events are often around the holidays, or when they’re all at a game they will often go back to the house and eat together. They will continue the family time when they can. They don’t do it every time, because sometimes Travis just wants to go home and relax.”
The two families also formed a close bond with each other after Taylor and Travis started dating, with the insider sharing that their loved ones are “pretty normal” and “everyone gets along.” Another source even said Donna and Andrea “talk” and are on their way to being besties:
“Together with Taylor they’re all in contact, talking about everyday things, like recipes or a TV show recommendation or plans to hang out. They’re definitely becoming great friends.”
It is unknown if Donna and Andrea are upset over their lack of involvement in the wedding details. However, we got the hint that they aren’t involved after The Traitors alum repeatedly told the press she knows nothing about the ceremony! And that she (and other Kelce’s family members) are sick of being asked about it! Kylie Kelce even came to Donna’s defense this month after the constant questions about Taylor and Travis’ wedding, saying they know “nothing” and wouldn’t tell anyone anything if they did.
Hopefully they know some of the plans now! We heard Taylor and Travis are getting married in NYC on July 3!
The first insider went on to say that Donna gets “overwhelmed” by the attention, even amid the wedding chaos:
“There are times when all the attention was a bit too much for Donna. Occasionally she’s overwhelmed, but she manages to hold it together. While Travis was famous in his own right before hooking up with Tay, it was never this kind of fame. Now it’s worldwide superstardom with cameras in Donna’s face when she’s in public. Her life has changed. At first she said it was too much to deal with. Now, after almost three years, she’s got used to it.”
Her new pal Andrea maybe stepped in to help ease her anxieties, too! Besides, at this point, Donna is an icon herself! Never forget her Traitors and home reno meme! LOLz! The second source shared that there is even an inside family joke that Mama Kelce is the famous one, not Taylor:
“There is often a lot of joking that Donna is the actual celebrity in the family. Everyone gets along, jokes with each other… and wants to be on grandparent duties next.”
