All the kids at school used to ask 9-year-old Matthew Shields what was wrong with his hand. Can you imagine how hard that would be for a child?
Matthew was born without fingers on his right hand, but it wasn’t until recently that he ever became insecure about his situation.
His mother, Jennifer, just needed a way to get her son’s self-esteem back. Luckily, she knew just the person to ask for help!
17-year-old Mason Wilde is a family friend who had always liked building things like furniture or entire computers. He had the mind to do it, but could he construct a human hand?!
The high school junior took Jennifer up on her challenge and with the help of a 3-D printer was able to build Matthew exactly that — A NEW HAND!
AH-Mazing!
Now Matthew doesn’t mind when classmates ask him about his hand, because he thinks his new one is pretty cool! He told Mason:

“It’s the coolest thing ever! Every kid in my class wants one. I’m like Superman!├óΓé¼┬¥

For Mason, he’s just thrilled that he got to help out his little buddy!
He explained:

“This has been a dream come true. I got to help somebody, and I got to use one of the new 3-D printers.├óΓé¼┬¥

Two truly incredible kids!
Ch-ch-check out Matthew’s new hand in the video (below)!
