Fans of Teen Mom were given a glimpse of inevitability last night.
This week’s episode found Amber Portwood being released from rehab and fighting with baby daddy Gary Shirley.
But the show is filmed weeks in advance, and those who follow the news know that this stint of freedom is sadly short-lived. Amber is currently in prison after violating the terms of her plea bargain.
Gary, now raising baby Leah on his own, reacted to the show’s airing on Twitter. He tweeted:
“Truth is parenting solo while trying to do everything right for your child takes a lot of sacrificing. Learning this over and over. My daughter is the greatest gift I’ve ever received. I’m hurt that she can have both parents involved.”
We assume Gary meant “can’t have both parents.” The single dad also has a message for fans of his baby mama. He tweets:
“On another note Amber is so grateful for letters. She said they help and a Lao[sic] no need for stamps DOC takes them.”
These messages seem sincere and heartfelt. Gary may finally have this parenting thing down.
We certainly hope so for little Leah’s sake.
