Hey, Donald Trump, how does it feel to get owned by Teen Vogue?!
Over the weekend, writer Lauren Duca set the internet ablaze with her searing op-ed on Trump’s America and how he managed to snag the presidency despite being a walking disaster.

In the celebrated piece, Lauren puts the New York Times and other well-established publications to shame by telling it exactly like it is — Drumpf won the election by “gaslighting” millions of disillusioned voters.
For those unfamiliar with the term — popularized by the 1944 film Gaslight, in which a man attempts to deceive his wife — Deluca explains it means “to psychologically manipulate a person to the point where they question their own sanity”.
Yep, it sounds like Trump could teach a college course on the subject! We can’t think of a more divisive and incendiary person than the president-elect.
The excellent piece argues:
“Trump won the Presidency by gas light. His rise to power has awakened a force of bigotry by condoning and encouraging hatred, but also by normalizing deception. Civil rights are now on trial, though before we can fight to reassert the march toward equality, we must regain control of the truth. If that seems melodramatic, I would encourage you to dump a bucket of ice over your head while listening to ├óΓé¼╦£Duel of the Fates.’ Donald Trump is our President now; it’s time to wake up.”
Preach, girl!

Duca went on to explain:
“He gained traction in the election by swearing off the lies of politicians, while constantly contradicting himself, often without bothering to conceal the conflicts within his own sound bites. He lied to us over and over again, then took all accusations of his falsehoods and spun them into evidence of bias… Trump took advantage of the things that divide this country, pitting us against one another, while lying his way to the Oval Office. Yes, everything is painfully clear in hindsight, but let’s make sure Trump’s win was the Lasik eye surgery we all so desperately needed.”
Well, we can’t think of a better way to sum it up! Hopefully these words will resonate with those who voted for our president-elect.
Of course, the fact this hot take came from Teen Vogue took a lot of readers by surprise…
