Lots of money anywhere other than a bank is usually a bad idea!
One woman found this out the hard way!
A Chinese lady had $65,000 of her life savings eaten by termites!!
The woman had wrapped 400,000 yuan, a gift from her children, in plastic, and had placed it in a wooden desk.
One day when she went to retrieve the money – she found termites all over her money!
Luckily, she rushed the money to a bank in the Guangdong Province. They saved most of her cash by scanning and verifying the money.
However about $9,786 worth of her money was unidentifiable. The woman is hoping a People’s Bank in China will be able to salvage it.
Whether or not they do – we think this woman’s definitely learned her lesson.
Hopefully it won’t be an expensive one!!
