Terry Crews is owning up to a pretty huge secret.
Earlier this month, the actor took to Facebook to post a video titled Dirty Little Secret, and used the social media platform to get super honest with his fans and followers.

In the clip, he revealed that he suffered from pornography addiction, saying:

“For years, years, years, my dirty little secret was that I was addicted to pornography for years.”

The 47-year-old explained that he kept this secret under lock and key for quite some time, adding:

“Pornography, it really, really messed up my life in a lot of ways…. It became a thing where I didn’t tell anybody. It was my secret. Nobody knew, and that allowed it to grow.”

In fact, he explained that he almost lost his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, because of it:

“My wife was literally like, ‘I don’t know you anymore. I’m out of here.’ And that changed me.”

In the candid clip he also confessed that he went to rehab for his addiction, but clarified that saving his marriage wasn’t his motivation:

“I did not get help to get my wife back. I got help because I needed it.”

But, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star said he did, ultimately, win his lovely lady back, spilling:

“She did decide to stay with me because she knew I was repentant, she knew I was going to get help, and she knew I was sorry.”

He said he’s been free of his vice for about six years, but now feels the need to share his story with the world.
The NFL alum had so much to say on the subject, that he’s actually been making follow-up videos to discuss his sad situation in-depth.
In a second video — posted last week — the sports star also admitted he went to therapy for his porn addiction, saying:

“I went into therapy, big time. When I went into therapy, I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know how to beat it. I couldn’t do it alone.”

While in therapy, TC learned that his shame was perpetuating his bad habit, explaining:

“When you think and believe that you are bad, there’s no way out. There’s no way you. You think, ‘Forget it. I might as well use drugs. I might as well overeat. I might as well use porn. I might as well go do something crazy.’ Because if you believe that you are bad, then you act accordingly.”

The Michigan native also offered up some advice for anyone going through a similar struggle, suggesting:

“What you have to change is that paradigm in your life. You have to believe that you are good. And once that hit me, it was one of those things that cracked that egg and really changed everything for me in every way.”

And on Tuesday, the former football player uploaded a third installment to his Dirty Little Secret series, discussing the ways in which his addiction was psychologically harmful.
He admitted that he felt entitled to everything, including sex with his wife:

“Another thing that I had to battle was a sense of entitlement. I had the biggest sense of entitlement ever. I felt the world owed me something. I felt like my wife owed me sex. I felt that everybody owed me. And when you have a sense of entitlement, it’s extremely dangerous.”

He also thought he was better than his wife, simply because he was a man and she was a woman:

“I believed I was more valuable than my wife, as a human being, because I was a man…. And I was wrong. In fact, the belief that I was more valuable than my wife actually made me half a man.”

We’re definitely glad he doesn’t think that anymore! And it looks like there will be more videos to come, because he finished his most recent edition by saying:

“I know there are a lot of people who are going through this. I love you guys and I’m here. Give me more of your questions ├óΓé¼┬ª we gonna talk about this because the more we talk about it, the more we can beat it.”
