Designer Thakoon has been hard at work creating a line of fancy jewels for Japanese jeweler Tasaki and has unveiled his first designs.

Thakoon revealed his inspiration for the collection in a recent interview saying:

“I really wanted to just go back to the DNA of what Tasaki├óΓé¼Γäós about, which is beautiful pearls, beautiful materials and beautiful diamonds. It├óΓé¼Γäós working with the materials, making them feel a bit more sculptural as well, and modern. I wanted to put some youthful spirit into pearls.”

Some of the pieces that will be going on sale in April of next year at the opening of Tasaki’s Ginza Tower store in Tokyo include two-finger pearl rings, lariat necklaces with raw pearls and inverted diamonds.

And as with most jewelry, there’s a hefty price tag for these baubles. Pricing ranges anywhere from $5,500 to $40,000.
