Chris Harrison Opens Up About 'Bachelor' Star Peter Weber's 'Volatile' Relationship With Victoria Fuller

Chris Harrison defends the Bachelor, Peter Weber, over his continued support of Victoria Fuller

Ohhhhhh Peter Weber, whatever are we to make of your weird, wacky, wild season as The Bachelor?!

But forget about what we think… longtime show host Chris Harrison has evidently seen enough, whatever the case may be, because he’s now jumping in at parties and events to defend the embattled show lead, and Weber’s choice of women!

Speaking to Us Weekly at a private event this week, the Texas native and longtime TV host was asked about the pilot’s “volatile” relationship with controversial contestant Victoria Fuller, and whether the show has a role to play to step in on something like that.

Ever the hands-off host, Harrison opted to stay away from the controversy and keep Peter’s decisions his own, saying (below):

“It’s one of those relationships, I see it often on the show, and you see it in life, where there’s passion, there’s chemistry, but it’s so volatile, and from the outside looking in, you think, ‘What do you do? What are you doing?’ It’s so clear.”

Yeah, we get that… we suppose.

Harrison wasn’t done there, though, and he added more (below):

“It’s what makes the show so relatable. When you’re in those relationships. It’s really a lot easier said than done to just walk away. If you’ve ever been in those relationships, the magnetic draw — and I’ve been in it! I’ve been in a relationship exactly like it as well, and I stayed and I went back and I stayed, went back and I made those same mistakes. So you have to, you have to give Peter a little bit of a wide berth. You know, this is the craziest thing. We’ve all — we all do stuff like this.”

We do all do stuff like this from time to time, sure. Just not on national television! And not when it’s SO clear there are several other women waaaaay more in line with Peter’s values than an alleged homewrecker.

Just saying!!!

Anyways, Harrison admits he’s heard all the criticism about the show itself, too, and summed the events of this season up nicely there:

“Yeah, you know, one of the things I appreciate about that franchise and the fans is they are loyal, and they are sincere and serious and they are passionate, and their resolve and following the show … I do love that and I listened to it. I do hear it all. And so I love and I respect all of their opinions, too. Luckily, Peter has a thick skin and it’s getting thicker by the day. I know he’s taken a little bit of a beating, but he has a good support system. He has a great family, a lot of people that love him.”

Well said!

What do U think, Perezcious readers?! It’s been an, um, interesting season on The Bachelor, but is Harrison right about letting his leading man go through it all himself? Would U have preferred a different (better) outcome to these final few dates?!
