Ruh-roh, Bilbo!
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey just screened at CinemaCon 2012 and responses were lukewarm at best.
It was only a 10 minute clip of Peter Jackson’s HIGHly anticipated sequel to last decade’s box-office destroying Lord of the Rings trilogy but some fans were left upset and betrayed.
Many of the complaints surrounded a needless conversion to 3-D, saying it looked like video or generally unfinished.
One editor was complimentary in his tweets:
“Great Scott, THE HOBBIT in 48 frames-per-second is a thing to behold. Totally different experience. Not all will like the change.”
We’re not too worried because this film brings a ton of STAR power!!
Returning A-Listers Orlando Bloom, Cate Blanchett, and Elijah Wood are being bolstered by franchise newcomers Andy Serkis, Luke Evans, and Evangeline Lilly — though Kate Evangeline already expressed worry about getting her elf on.
Maybe the clip leaked too soon? Filming did just wrap in March.
Something tells us this thing might still rake in bazillions of dollars this December, but we really hate to see such mixed reviews.
Are U worried those sneaky little hobbitses might BOMB on the big screen??
