After seeing Hairspray over the weekend, we kind of want to see more of Nick Jonas on stage! We suppose he’s a bit young to play King George VI, though…or is he??? LOLz.
Back in April, we learned that the Weinsteins were planning on bringing Finding Neverland, Cinema Paradiso, Chocolat, and other movies to Broadway.
At the time, we joked about the possibility of a King’s Speech musical coming next, and while there may not be any music in this one, we TOTALLY called it that last year’s Best Picture winner would make its way to Broadway!
As far as King’s Speech play deets are concerned, so far all we know is that it’s slated to premiere on Broadway in fall 2012, but it’ll get a run in the U.K. in the spring!
We thought the film was fine as is, so maybe this play isn’t entirely necessary, but if they find the right cast, we could see giving this one a try.
What do U think? Would U like to see a Broadway version of The King’s Speech?
