Even though the first film bombed at the box office, it looks like the series isn’t completely dead!
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which starred Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell-Bower, has found new life not as a film sequel, but as a television series!

Constantin Film, the ones who own the rights to the book series written by Cassandra Clare, have hired Ed Decter, who has worked on Helix, Unforgettable, In Plain Sight, and The Client List, as the showrunner!
How exciting!
Head of Constantin film and TV Martin Moszkowicz spoke out about how exciting the prospect of the show is. He said:
“It actually makes sense to do (the novels) as a TV series. There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the Mortal Instruments film. In the series we’ll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth.”
There is no news regarding what channel will air the series, since the show hasn’t been picked up by anyone yet.
Production hasn’t even started, so not only do they have no idea where the show will air, but they haven’t a clue who will star in it!
Guess we’ll have to wait and see when more news gets released!
