NBC has
just signed a two year deal with Mindy Kaling from The Office.
The actress/writer/producer will continue to write for and appear on The Office next season while simultaneously developing a comedy in which she would also star.
At the moment, Kaling, who plays talkative customer service rep Kelly Kapoor, is kicking around a lot of different ideas for a series. She says she’s drawn to workplace comedies but is also interested in buddy shows in the vein of Flight of the Conchords.
