Brad Pitt and his brother, Doug Pitt, have made a extremely generous donation to Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, in their father’s name!
Generosity speaks volumes!
Brad and Doug donated $600,000 to the university’s O’Reilly Family Event Center in order for the center to become Gold LEED (Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design)-certified, making it the first Gold LEED certified arena in the nation.
Some of the more well known LEED-certified building in the States include the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco and the National Audubon Society offices in New York City.
The center, primarily used by the school for sporting events, performances and graduations, will now feature environmentally-sound “low-flow water fixtures, a dedicated recycling area and a solar-reflective roof and pavement materials,” with the court of the arena named the William A. Pitt Court after Grandpa Pitt himself.
