In its premiere week, The Talk averaged about 2.2 million viewers, which could not even compare to the ratings of The View. But stars of the new show feel that they have something to offer that their competitors don’t.
Julie Chen said:
“There is no denying the comparison to The View. But I think if people watch our show, they will get a different vibe. We are not trying to be political.
We didn’t want to come across as over-the-top, screaming women, which a lot of people were expecting and secretly hoping to see happen. We just wanted to have a civilized opening.”
That’s too bad! We like over-the-top screaming women!
