'The Voice' Singer Janice Freeman Dead At 33 From Apparent Blood Clot

This is such a sudden and shocking tragedy…
Janice Freeman, who once sang on The Voice and quickly became one of Miley Cyrus‘ favorite stars on the reality music competition show, has died.
The 33-year-old singer passed away on Saturday from an apparent blood clot, according to TMZ.

According to reports, Janice was at her home in West Covina, California on Saturday afternoon with her husband, Dion, when she began to complain that she was having trouble breathing.
Dion called 9-1-1 and then performed CPR on his wife until paramedics could arrive. They rushed her to the hospital, but she passed away — and was officially pronounced dead at about 5:30 pm last night.
Though final autopsy results haven’t yet been performed, it appears that a blood clot which traveled to Janice’s heart was the cause of the singer’s death. She had been having a series of very serious medical issues recently, including fighting through lupus, cervical cancer, and meningitis. And though she’d battled — and beaten — those, the blood clot unfortunately, apparently caused her untimely death.
Freeman is best known for her impressive appearance on season 13 of The Voice back in 2017, when she went very deep into the season as part of Team Miley, under the guidance of Miley Cyrus.

She quickly became one of Cyrus’ favorites on the show thanks to her impressive vocal talents and ability to execute amazing performances week after week on stage (as you can see in a video of one of Freeman’s performances, above!). Freeman captivated the audience with her unique look and style, and powerful vocal talents during what turned out to be a very competitive, high-quality season of the reality TV show.
Janice and Miley even stayed in touch long after the show, too — with Freeman at one point publicly and emotionally thanking Cyrus for helping her out financially and kick-starting her career with all the exposure and assistance during her time on The Voice.
Cyrus posted a public tribute to Freeman just a few hours ago, too, sharing this picture on her Instagram Stories page showing a rainbow and giving thanks to Janice as a remembrance for her life (below):

So, so sad…
It’s truly sad to lose Freeman’s impressive vocal talents so soon; she was just 33 years old at the time of her passing yesterday. Gone far, far too early.
