Tiger Woods Blasts 'Jilted Girlfriend' For Suing Him & Denies Sexual Assault

Tiger Woods is speaking out following his ex-girlfriend’s claims!

As we’re sure you’ve heard by now, the pro golfer came under fire by his ex Erica Herman when their breakup was revealed in a very messy way — attached to news of a pending lawsuit! According to court docs obtained by US Weekly last week, she’s trying to nullify the non-disclosure agreement she signed when she first started dating Tiger in 2017. The docs read:

“Because of the aggressive use of the Woods NDA against her by the Defendant and the trust under his control, the Plaintiff is unsure whether she may disclose, among other things, facts giving rise to various legal claims she believes she has. She is also currently unsure what other information about her own life she may discuss or with whom. There is therefore an active dispute between the Plaintiff and the Defendant for which the Plaintiff needs a clarifying declaration from the court.”

Not only was there the ominous comment about the “aggressive use” of the NDA, she went on in the filings to cite the Speak Out Act — which “prohibits the judicial enforceability of a nondisclosure clause or nondisparagement clause agreed to before a dispute arises involving sexual assault or sexual harassment in violation of federal, tribal, or state law.” Yeah. Sexual assault or sexual harassment!

It turns out Erica is not accusing him of sexual assault but is nevertheless using the act as part of her argument, as she doesn’t believe she should be silenced either. It’s unclear just what she will accuse him of if released from the NDA. What we have heard already is that he allegedly tricked her into going on a vacation and then had his people dump her for him at the airport — and change the locks on the home where they lived together! Ouch!

But since whatever Tiger did to the woman isn’t sexual assault, he’s making the legal case that her NDA absolutely is enforceable! In new court documents obtained by People on Monday, the 47-year-old’s lawyers blasts Erica’s argument:

“Ms. Herman’s position is utterly meritless. It is a transparent abuse of the judicial process that undermines the purpose of the federal statute and those whom the statute seeks to protect.”

The golfer’s Trust points out there isn’t “a single reference to an allegation of sexual harassment or sexual assault” in Erica’s filings, and that she’s just a “jilted” ex:

“Ms. Herman is not a victim of sexual assault or abuse. Rather, Ms. Herman is a jilted ex-girlfriend who wants to publicly litigate specious claims in court.”

Whoa! Tiger’s legal team didn’t hold back…

The filing went on to explain the 38-year-old signed the NDA in 2017 “as consideration for” the opportunity “to continue to spend time with Mr. Woods.” Tiger’s attorney claimed “for more than six years, Ms. Herman enjoyed the benefits of her agreement” and that she’s just “making salacious and insidious implications” of claims relating to sexual assault disputes.

A source close to the father of two agreed Erica is just bitter about the breakup, claiming their relationship “was stale” for a while before the inevitable end. According to the insider, she helped her then-boyfriend a lot through his recovery after his 2021 car accident, but things quickly went downhill. Tiger was experiencing “frustration over the injuries, some of which are not going to get much better” and pushed the relationship toward the exit while Erica was looking for something long-term:

“[She] was more serious about a long-term commitment. [She] was there for him throughout the whole thing so she thinks that kind of loyalty is worth something.”

Apparently the pro golfer was also getting “restless” in the relationship even before the accident:

“[The relationship] deteriorated further after he recovered from the accident.”

Yeesh. Sounds like this whole thing is messy! But… legally? If she’s not making a claim of sexual misconduct it does seem like a rather sensationalistic use of the law. Maybe she’dhave better luck challenging him over being evicted?
