A TikTok influencer is dead after being brazenly shot on a livestream.
23-year-old Valeria Marquez has sadly passed away as the result of a shocking act of violence on Tuesday. According to multiple outlets, the beauty influencer was on a TikTok livestream at her place of work in Zapopan, a suburb in Guadalajara, Mexico, when a man entered and shot her dead. Holy s**t!

Reuters reported Valeria was seated at a table clutching a small stuffed animal before eerily saying, “they’re coming.” A voice off-camera then asks, “Hey, Vale?” She responds, “Yes,” before muting the audio. Moments later, she was shot dead and blood was seen pooling on the desk in front of her, according to CNN. Soon after, a person picked up her phone and ended the livestream and briefly showed their face. That is so incredibly tragic.

The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office has not released the name of the shooter, but noted the killing is not currently believed to be related to cartels. For now, they believe the motive is femicide: the intentional violence against or murder of women based on gender.
The office did, however, report that the man had come to Valeria’s place of work earlier asking directly for her to give her a gift. When he returned to the salon later, he shot her. Jeez.
How completely senseless. Valeria, whose TikTok account has since seemingly been taken down, boasted nearly 300k followers on Instagram. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and followers who witnessed the brutality on her stream. Rest in peace.
